Curriculum
At Funtington Primary School, our curriculum is designed to embody the aims of our school vision: confidence, community, success, learning and caring. We strive to create an inclusive community where every child feels a strong sense of belonging, is valued for their unique strengths, and is supported to achieve their personal best.
Our curriculum aims to nurture enthusiastic learners who feel happy, safe, and proud of their successes. We believe in developing the whole child, fostering not just academic progress, but also their social, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Through a carefully sequenced and coherent programme of study, and a broad range of experiences within and beyond the classroom, we equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to be well-prepared for the next phase of their education and beyond.
Underpinning our curriculum is a firm commitment to developing curious, independent thinkers who have the skills and attitudes to continue learning throughout their lives. The unique context of our school and its setting, its connection to the surrounding area and local community provides a wealth of learning experiences that enable our pupils to develop their sense of place and identity and serves to enrich our curriculum.
By providing a curriculum that is broad, balanced and personalised to our school, taught alongside our core values of the Funtington Footprints, we aim for our pupils to develop a genuine enjoyment of learning that allows them to ‘Move Forward, Loving Learning’.
